Disrupting Class, a Perspective on Education in the US

Posted by on November 13, 2012

When I first became involved with iGifted School, Bob Mandell, the Founder, introduced me to a book called "Disrupting Class" by Clayton Christensen.  This concepts in this book have been a strong contributor to much of our basic thinking.  We bring our thoughts and services to our students, not in opposition to formal school of homeschool structure, but rather as a supplement for enrichment.

Professor Christensen has researched and then clearly expressed his thinking about the factors that are keeping our students from competing in a global societs as well as they might.  When the iGifted School team thinks of the significance of what we may contribute to our society, we think of the best and brightest who need to be nourished in order for them to be thought leaders in the future.

We strongly urge you to read "Disrupting Class" recently republished in a new edition.  We think you will want your own copy, and hope that you elect to purchase through the link on our front page.

Here is an interview with Professor Christensen describing some highlights of his research.
